David AlimiMD, received his Medical Degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Paris, France. He currently serves as a Neurophysiologist, Chronobiologist, Associated Professor of Auricular Acupuncture at the Faculty of Medicine of Paris. Dr. Alimi is also the Medical Consulter at the Pain Service of Gustave Roussy Institute in Villejuif, France, where he integrates auriculotherapy into a standard medical practice.    (more)


 
 Steven KH Aung, MD, PhD, is a geriatric and family physician and a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner (TCM) and teacher. At the University of Alberta, Dr Aung is an associate clinical professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Extension and the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.    (more)


 
Frank Bahr, MD, worked with Dr. Paul Nogier and Dr. Rene Bourdiol in conducting the earliest research studies, which examined the correspondences of specific internal organs and neurological regions to selective locations on the ear. Dr. Bahr, Dr. Bourdiol, and Dr. Nogier developed the first international ear reflex chart, “Loci Auriculo-Medicinae,” depicting musculoskeletal, visceral, endocrine, and neurological ear points.    (more)


 
Mary Bonnette, MSN, RN, has recently completed her research and doctoral dissertation: Auriculotherapy in the Treatment of Nicotine Addiction.  She has been in practice as a mental health nurse practitioner specializing in nicotine addiction for the past 15 years.  A major focus has been on outpatient smoking cessation program development in the hospital setting.    (more)
Colonel Stephen M. Burns is a board-certified USAF family practitioner.  A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, he completed the Helms Medical Institute/UCLA acupuncture course, is licensed to practice medicine & acupuncture in Washington D.C., and is actively practicing at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and the AF Flight Medicine clinic at the Pentagon.    (more)


 
David Carr, DDS is a graduate of Texas Tech University. He received his dental training at the Baylor University School of Dentistry in Dallas and he currently lectures widely on advanced therapies for treating cervico-craniomandibular pain complexes related to temporomandibular joint dysfunction, occlusal dysfunction, myofascial pain, and headache complexes.    (more)


 
Tom Corbin, PA, is the Clinical Director of the Atlantic Institute of  Oriental Medicine and also serves on the Board of Directors of ACI. Tom is a Certified National Trainer for the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Stress. His professional interests lie in using auricular therapy for pain control in a Veterans Hospital Pain Clinic.  (more)


 
Gary Ditson, DC, LAc,  received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1968 from Logan College of Chiropractic. He has served on the Post Graduate Faculty of the National University of Health Sciences and on the educational faculty and past Director of Admissions of Logan College of Chiropractic. Bryan L. Frank, MD, is an Anesthesia/Pain/Acupuncture specialist.  He trained at TAMU (‘81) and the UCLA Medical Acupuncture for Physicians program (1992). Hardy Gaus, dentist and non-medical-practitioner received his dental degree from the University of Tübingen, Germany in 1981. He works in own practice with emphasis holistic dentistry, acupuncture, homoeopathy, focal therapy and pain management since 1984 and is serving as a lecturer for different national and foreign societies, institutions and German dental chambers. Diane Iuliano, MAc, LAc, is a Professor and Co-Chair of the Japanese Acupuncture Department at the New England School (NESA) of Acupuncture in Watertown, MA.  She graduated from NESA in 1992. Diane teaches courses on auricular acupuncture and Japanese acupuncture styles in both the US and Japan.    (more)

Janet Konefal, PhD,
received her doctorate from the University of Miami. She is a licensed psychotherapist and received her license in acupuncture in 1981.  She is Chief of the Division of Complementary at the University of Miami; she has published research in auricular acupuncture in refereed journals.    (more)
 
Steve Meeker, LAc, has been Board Certified in Acupuncture since 1988 and was subsequently Board Certified in Pain Management. He is currently the Director of the Hollywood Clinic in Portland, Oregon, which specializes in auriculomedicine and is the Internet home of www.eardoc.com. Richard Niemtzow, MD, PhD, received his Medical Degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montpellier, France and completed a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas. He is the first full time physician acupuncturist in the Armed Forces and he currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Medical Acupuncture and Senior Editor of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. Terry Oleson, PhD, ACI President, received his doctorate from the University of California at Irvine in 1973. Dr. Oleson conducted pioneering research on auriculotherapy at the UCLA Pain Management and is currently the Chair of the Department of Psychology at the California Graduate Institute. Dr. Oleson is author of the Auriculotherapy Manual: Chinese and Western Approaches to Ear Acupuncture, Third Edition.    (more)


 
Jim Shores, PhD, ACI Vice President, received his doctorate in Auricular Medicine from the Ryadoraku Research Institute.  He is Executive Director of the Electro Therapy Association in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has conducted worldwide trainings of professionals in electrotherapy procedures for over 40 years. Dr. Shores is also the President of Tulsa Physical Inc, later named Chronic Pain Associates from 1964 to 1982.    (more)


 
Michael Smith, MD,  is a psychiatrist, acupuncturist, addiction specialist and public health planner who has been the Director of Lincoln Hospital Substance Abuse Division since 1974. Dr. Smith is internationally known for developing the use of acupuncture in the field of chemical dependency. Nader Soliman, MD, is Director of the Integrated Pain Management and Alternative Medicine Center in Rockville, Maryland and an Anesthesiology Pain Medicine and Medical Acupuncture specialist. He has taught physicians with a particular interest in integrating auricular medicine into medical acupuncture practices for pain and medical problems. Baixiao Zhao, MD, PhD,  is Chairman of the branch of Auricular Acupuncture Committee, China Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Deputy Dean and professor, School of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Liqun Zhou, MD, PhD, is Secretary General and Vice Chairman of the Auricular Acupuncture Committee, China Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Professor of the School of the Pre-clinical Medicine in Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
